Who WE ARE Note from the Publisher’s Desk Dear Readers, Local Community Heroes – Héroes de la Comunidad(LCHP) was created for two great purposes: 1.) to celebrate local inspiring teachers and students 2.) to provide scholarship funds for college bound students. Students achieving best grades, best attendance, best in a sport; or those considered most improved or most giving will be featured on the front cover. I hope this will get more students and parents involved with local education and play bigger roles in the betterment of the San Jose community. Also, I hope to encourage and inspire other students and teachers to be like the individuals featured on the cover.
Local Community Heroes (LCHP) will donate 5% or more of its revenue each year to participating schools, to benefit the school or a particular classroom. LCHP is working with small, medium and large businesses in the community to provide scholarship funds for College Bound students, starting 2017. LCHP is not only for students and teachers. It is also designed to promote local “Unsung Heroes” and “Hidden Heroes” within our community. Also, local authors, artists, musicians and bands will be highlighted. We would like to promote these individuals and their stories to other citizens of Silicon Valley...and to the nation.
